Karen A. Sims

Karen Sims originally from East Orange, NJ is currently a resident of North Carolina. Her professional career supporting nonprofit financial management spans over 20 years. Her service includes professional development, nonprofit board leadership, operational process improvement and corporate change management strategies and techniques.

Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Management and Marketing from DeSales University in Center Valley, PA. Karen completed her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.

Karen spent her early years growing up in the church under the tutelage of her parents, Pastor Ulysses Sims and the Late First Lady Lynda P. Sims of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. She has had many ministry opportunities over the years and has been blessed to share her talents in various capacities. She has been singing, performing and ministering in various capacities for over 40 years. Karen has excelled in her creative arts endeavors and has been a member of several choirs and music ensembles. Karen has shared her talents in service to creative arts ministries by leading in both music and drama ministry. She has traveled across the U.S. sharing her gifts and is grateful for every opportunity she has to share her inspiration with others.

Karen’s passion for inspiring and leading personal development workshops encompasses her present and past experience as well as her employment training. Continuing her efforts to inspire others gives her a great opportunity to share her knowledge and talents with a focus on transforming the individual through faith-based holistically charged mindset changes .

Karen has almost 20 years of extensive experience with nonprofit financial management, business operation functions and database management program development including developing process improvements. Karen’s focus also includes staff development and redefining functions in business operation areas. Karen’s approach has successfully contributed to her experience of managing people, resources and talents with a focus on continued process improvement and change management.

Her past professional affiliations have allowed her to serve in varying leadership roles by serving as the Board of directors and committee chair with prestigious organizations throughout her career. She has presented and facilitated dynamic and riveting workshops at conferences and special events.

Karen A. Sims is a mother of five adult children and five grandchildren.  Her greatest desire is to be a willing vessel ready for God’s service at all times and to uphold the legacy of compassion and genuine love for the Lord throughout her ministry.

Karen’s current endeavors include authoring her first book, launching a radio talk show, facilitating vision casting workshops and mentoring in the professional development arena to serve as an inspirational voice to uplift and help build individual’s goal setting capabilities.
